Financial Benefits
The following expenses will be covered by the NCTU International Student Scholarship 2023 in Taiwan for International Students:
Bachelor Degree Scholarship:
Monthly stipend of up to NT$21,000 (US$700) and/or tuition waiver.
Master Degree Scholarship:
- Waiver of University Tuition Fees
- Monthly stipend of NT$22,000 (US$733)
- Advisors will also offer assistantships to master’s students for research work.
Doctoral Degree Scholarship:
- Tuition fee exemptions
- Monthly stipend of NT$29,000 (US$966)
- PhD students will also receive research assistance from their advisor.
Taiwan Scholarship – MOE, MOFA, MOST Scholarship:
Taiwan’s government is providing this scholarship (the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Science and Technology).
MOFA Scholarship:
- Stipend every month: NT$30,000
- One Economy-Class Round-Trip Ticket
MOE Scholarship:
- Tuition and certain fees are waived.
- Recipients may only study at universities that are members of the Taiwan Scholarship Program Union.
- Primarily for grantees from MOE-designated qualifying nations.

Eligibility Criteria for NCTU Scholarship
Candidates must meet the following conditions in order to apply for the NCTU International Student Scholarships 2022:
- Except for Taiwan, international applicants of any nationality are eligible to apply.
- Candidates must be in good physical and mental health.
- Candidates who have received any other scholarships are ineligible.
- Applicants must fill out the application form correctly, honestly, and completely, and submit all needed application materials.
- Candidates with a high school diploma are eligible to apply for Undergraduate Degree programmes.
- Applicants with a bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply for a master’s degree.
- Students having a master’s degree are eligible to apply for a doctorate.

- 2 Recommendation Letters: (Must be written by the candidate’s teacher, advisor, or an employee).
- Copy of a Valid Passport
- The study schedule must be prepared in either Chinese or English.
- If the applicant’s previous degree was taught in English, the individual may submit an English Proficiency Certificate from the previous institute.
- Thesis or relevant papers from academia (for Ph.D. programme applicants).

The deadline for applying for National Chiao Tung University Scholarships in Taiwan 2022 is September 30th, 2021 for Spring Intake and March 5th, 2022 for Fall Intake.
